Audience responses via email: "LOVED the concert tonight! . . . It definitely WAS WORTH IT! I laughed and cried and loved all the music. Thanks again. Fred"
"What a wonderful, marvelous concert. A great piece of work. You are all to be commended. I could tell that your hearts and souls were in this work. It really showed. The song choices were excellent, the spoken pieces were moving and true. I thought that the total sound of the chorus was excellent. From the opening number to the closing piece, every single song was engaging. Congratulations to Chris, to Carolyn, and to each and every one of you. You are truly amazing. Mae [Krueger, Desert Voices' Board Treasurer]"
(The following came to us after our February show: "Come Out and Play: A Frisky Affair"): "Desert Voices has outdone itself! I have been to many GLBT chorus events in different cities, and what DV accomplished last Saturday night has elevated the chorus concept to a whole new level. Hilarious, sexy, lyrical, inventive, and flawlessly executed, it was easily the most professional chorus performance I have ever attended. DV knows how to have a good time!" - Karen Johnsrude, LAc
"thank you thank you thank you. we really enjoyed the whole evening. convey our appreciation to everyone for the entertainment. We thought the lyrics in today's world were so apt, appropriate and conveyed a sense of what we all face. I thought your duet when i am 64 was great. we are still laughing about tools being a girls best friend and how great it was to see the older couple sing about 'do we do it.' wow. hey the food was great, too. loved the idea. i hope you all made money finally and this is something you all ought to pat yourselves on the back about was the complete organization of the evening. we go to a lot of events. this one started and ended appropriately the silent auction was well organized and closed when it should and who ever was in charge did a great job " - Fred Dardis
"The Cabaret was just oustanding. The audience loved it and so did I. Good voices, good acting, good vamping! Dick & Carolyn & Kirsten....they are always a hoot and very good at what they do.
"Good Evening. I had a fantastic time last night and we are also enjoying the cherry pie*. Thanks to all who made it all happen" - Dean Taylor
"Saturday's show should go to at least to Bizbee and Phoenix! Hope the show was videoed. Wouldn't it be great if other choruses over the country could see what you all carried off so well!! . . . It was indeed a finely presented, highly entertaining show. . . . Your Rock, Desert Voices. Keep up the inventiveness and high energy, fun performances!" - Carolyn Watts
(From a long-time fan about our November show: "Minding Our Business"): "The entire group is to be commended. EVERYONE did well. Dick as Joe, the truck drivers, the gym teachers, your new quartet (that was really good, I love the sound), the social worker song, Wendy's song and all the military songs. Sherry's rendition of the millenary was "fall off your seat funny." There was not one single number that I would have changed. I loved them all!!!! "Va, pensiero" was my personal favorite. The blend, the harmony, the melody, and the perfection with which it was directed and performed has made it absolutely the best of all the DV songs ever. It is my new all time favorite. It is clear that there are hours of work that go into a show, so many people who do so much. Everything came together for the audience, the staging, the set design, the video and of course the music You have a lot of talent in the group and it really shows. I love how personal the concerts always are. I love the stories. And Chris, what an extraordinary director he is. What a glorious performance. There are truly not enough superlatives to hand out to the members of Desert Voices. My hat off to everyone."
