How and when DV will return to Rehearsals
First. let me thank those of you who participated in our recent survey. Your comments were of great value to the board as we discussed at length your thoughts and feelings regarding how and when Desert Voices would return to rehearsals. We heard you, and after considering those responses and examining every option, we have arrived at the following plan for our future:
Rehearsals are to resume on Wednesday, March 9th with the following conditions/precautions:
Everyone entering the sanctuary will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against Covie-19 AND booster.
Masks are STRONGLY encouraged to be worn, however are optional. We can provide you with a KN95 mask due to a generous donation by Bernie Gay, and we can't thank him enough for his support.
We will continue to rehearse physically distanced in the sanctuary (for now) while providing as much ventilation as possible.
Our director, Keith, will conduct voice checks for matching pitch and assigning you to the appropriate voice part (SATB,1,2...)
Rehearsal time will be slightly truncated, running from 6:45 SHARP to 9:00 pm, with the option of running sectional rehearsals from 9-9:30 as needed. Because of our reduced rehearsal time, we'll no longer be taking a break.
We'll be working on music to be performed in late spring/early summer. As of now, we're looking to perform in Phoenix on June 12th with a 30-minute set as part of Pride. Venues in Tucson are either booked or not booking now due to Covid, but we're working on exploring other options.
We've been on this Covid-coaster for nearly two years now, working to keep us safe and singing. And while there is no way to accommodate everyone, we've made each decision in hopes of serving the greater good. Join us when you're comfortable doing so. You're always welcome, and welcome to bring a friend or so to sing with us. Thank you for your patience, your compassion, and your dedication to DV.
On behalf of your board-
Scottie
